New concrete plant opens in Oxfordshire

We have opened a new ready-mixed concrete plant in Sutton Courtenay, increasing our footprint and capabilities in the fast-growing Oxfordshire market.

The multi-million-pound plant in is located near Abingdon and can supply all concrete needs – including lower carbon, high volume and specialist mixes.

The site has a large storage capacity, minimising the frequency with which raw materials need to be brought in and is also rail connected, allowing aggregates to be transported from our rail-connected quarries. This keeps more than 3,000 lorry journeys off the roads each year, which equates to over 346,000 miles, reducing congestion and carbon emissions.

The plant includes a range of sustainability enhancements including a water harvesting system; an energy-efficient mixer; a waste management system for concrete washout; and the ability to store and incorporate reclaimed and lower carbon materials into the concrete mix.

“Our new ready-mixed concrete plant is perfectly placed to support our customers in Oxfordshire and the surrounding area,” said Gordon Napier, Concrete Managing Director.

“We offer a fast, efficient, reliable and consistent supply of ready-mixed concrete and can supply any requirements, whether for a collect customer or for a large infrastructure project.”
