What’s the difference between ready-mix and bagged concrete?

Ready-mixed concrete is pre-mixed and delivered for large projects, ensuring consistent quality. Bagged concrete is a dry mix designed for smaller DIY projects and requires mixing with water on-site. Our range of packed products including bagged concrete, can be purchased directly from a range of builder’s merchants across the country.

How long does home-use concrete take to set?

Concrete typically sets within 24-48 hours for light foot traffic but takes 28 days to fully cure and reach maximum strength. During this period, protect the surface from rain, freezing, or excessive drying. Learn how to prepare for a concrete pour with our guide.

Prepare for a pour

Can I pour domestic concrete in any weather?

Always avoid pouring during extreme weather to ensure the best appearance and durability. Hot weather can cause cracking due to rapid drying while freezing temperatures can weaken the concrete. Ideally, pour when temperatures are between 10°C and 25°C.

Do I need to reinforce the concrete?

For small projects like paths or patios, reinforcement may not be necessary. For driveways or structural applications, add reinforcement like steel mesh or rebar to improve durability.
