We rely on open and honest communication to help us drive change and continually improve. To do this, we release an employee survey every two years to better understand the needs of our employees.
The survey is communicated through a range of methods – including emails, articles in our company magazine and posters dispatched to all UK sites – and reinforced by supporting guidance for managers.
The survey is not mandatory, but all employees are encouraged to take part, with responses remaining anonymous.
It asks participants to rate a series of statements on key topics such as employee engagement, team ethos, diversity and inclusion, and health and wellbeing.
Our response level in 2021 was 63 per cent (1,900 people) and we have set a target of 73 per cent moving forward to provide a more representative view across the business.
