Meeting the gold standard for work-based training

We are delighted to have been recognised with The 5% Club gold award, through its 2021 employer audit scheme.

The award recognises our contribution to the continued development of our employees through a broad range of ‘earn and learn’ schemes such as apprenticeships and our graduate programme.

The 5% Club has more than 600 members all of which are committed to taking positive action for increased, inclusive and accessible workplace training for all.

HR director, Clare Mayo, said: “In order to achieve our business objectives and cultural aspirations we need to improve the diversity of our teams and think differently as an organisation, which is one of the reasons why we value and need to recruit and retain young people.

“We are delighted to have met The 5% Club’s gold standard. I am sure it will help us recruit up to 60 trainees over the coming months and help improve our brand, both internally and externally.”
As a member of The 5% Club we are:

  • Committed to helping the country's growth agenda and acknowledge the importance of developing our people as both a business and social imperative;
  • Playing our part in addressing youth unemployment and skills shortage;
  • Pledging to work toward having a minimum 5% of our UK workforce enrolled on formalised apprentice, sponsored student and/or graduate development schemes within five years;
  • Measuring and reporting on our progress annually against the above metric in our Corporate Social Responsibility section of our Annual Report and Accounts or equivalent document;
  • Committed to encouraging other businesses to participate in the campaign.
