HeidelbergCement confirms climate change A-list status

Our parent company has again been recognised for the action it is taking to reduce its impact on the environment with a place on CDP’s 2020 A-list for climate change.

HeidelbergCement was one of just 270 companies worldwide – from more than 9,600 that disclosed their data to the annual questionnaire – to achieve the rating and continues to lead the way in the cement sector.

"Receiving the A rating from CDP for the second year in a row recognises our activities as one of the world’s leading companies in cutting emissions, mitigating climate risks and developing the low-carbon economy," said Dr Dominik von Achten, chairman of the managing board of HeidelbergCement.

"Our ambitious reduction targets set for 2025 and the commitment to achieve CO2 neutrality by 2050 at the latest are the basis of all our actions."

CDP is a global environmental non-profit organisation and its sustainability rating is considered one of the most important for investors and the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency. It uses a detailed and independent methodology to assess companies and allocate a score of A to D- based on the depth of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of environmental leadership best practice.
