Reduced carbon asphalt solution trial

Asphalt has an important part to play in our route to decarbonisation and the trial of Duralayer Bio on the B3091 in Shaftesbury, Dorset, is the latest step in our journey.

Our close working relationship with Dorset Council, through the longstanding Dorset Highways Strategic Partnership, allows us to collaborate to develop and trial innovative new materials and Duralayer Bio is the latest example of this.

Watch our video to learn more about the new product, which combines our ERA warm mix asphalt with a carbon sink binder that absorbs and stores CO2 throughout its lifecycle to cut carbon emissions by 25 per cent compared with standard hot mix asphalt.
