Lexicon, Islington case study
Concrete supplied by Hanson was used to create the sub- and super-structure of one of London’s landmark residential buildings.
Behind its striking glazed façade, the building’s core, floorplates and structural rectangular columns are all constructed from one material – concrete.
Concrete was chosen due to the height of the structure, which stands 120 metres high on a very small footprint, as it is proven for creating tall structures while providing significant wind resistance, which was a major design consideration. It also provides fire and acoustic separation between the apartments.
